A Founder's Mission Rooted in Lived Experience
My name is Amar Sharif, and as a disabled woman of color and licensed social worker, my entire life has been informed by the knowledge that disabled people are too often overlooked in conversations around sexual health and identity. Facing these gaps firsthand sparked a commitment that began as my Master's thesis and blossomed into Sexy Disabled Folks LLC. This company serves as the platform I wish existed when I was searching for resources and community that embraced disability with honesty, positivity, and pride. My story is one of bridging the divide between personal experience and professional expertise - championing sexual agency, inclusive health education, and authentic representation for people like me.
Throughout my career, I have advocated for marginalized voices, refusing to settle for invisibility or exclusion. By creating this space, I am determined to help others cultivate self-advocacy, confidence, and joy in their most authentic selves. The real power of Sexy Disabled Folks LLC lies in the community we are building together - one that believes disabled sexuality deserves celebration, access, and respect. Every blog post, workshop, and piece of merchandise offers a practical step toward collective empowerment. If you believe in closing these gaps, you are already part of this story. Join me in making disabled sexual health visible, valued, and unapologetically proud.
